Obtain advice on construction defects

During construction or renovation work, it is not uncommon for defects to appear, either during the work itself or once it has been completed, sometimes months or years later. When this happens, it is imperative to report the defects to the company responsible as soon as possible, by notifying them in writing, for reasons of proof.

In the event of defects, the owner has several options. If the defects are really serious and render the construction unusable, he can reject it and claim damages from the company at fault. If the defects are less serious, the owner can oblige the company responsible to repair them, or demand a reduction in the price, as well as damages in the event of fault on the part of the company.

If the company responsible refuses to do so, it is possible to have the repairs carried out by another company. In all cases, it may be necessary to take legal action to obtain reimbursement or damages.
