Receive advice on contractual disputes

Disputes frequently arise between one or more parties to a contract, often over questions of interpretation of its content, which may relate to the provision of services under the contract, payments to be made, termination of the contract or the liability of one or more parties. While such disputes are sometimes settled privately, they can also end up in court, often when the contract is terminated. In such cases, legal advice is recommended, to ensure that all the necessary steps are taken in good time (e.g. contract termination, notice of defects, formal notice, interruption of the statute of limitations, etc.).

It is advisable to first try to resolve a contractual dispute amicably, insofar as this is possible. Most legal actions begin with the filing of a request for conciliation, leading to a hearing before a court which will attempt to bring the parties to a settlement. If conciliation is unsuccessful, a trial will have to be held. It is advisable to be represented by a professional attorney before the judicial authorities.
